We look forward to hosting you at Harlow Gallery with Lana as we explore the genre of still life through drawing, painting (water-based) and collage. Expect to go home with at least two finished works ready to frame, plus loads of experiments! All materials supplied (paper, watercolour, gouache, and an assortment of drawing tools like pencils and ink), plus tea and cake of course.
Lana Daubermann is a landscape and still life painter living near Melbourne’s Merri Creek. She has painted since she was a child, slowly sidestepping her way out of a career in advertising to becoming a full-time artist. Lana primarily works in oils and enjoys the immersive qualities of paint and its endless possibilities in mark-making.
Painting en plein air and direct from life is an important part of her practice as she explores the process of painting and drawing and the unique way it can connect us to the world. With a traditional background in tonalism, her attention over the years has shifted more towards intuition and colour.
An experienced teacher, Lana regularly runs classes and workshops—ranging from weekend intensives to ongoing courses in Victoria, Tasmania and internationally . Lana brings an approachable teaching style, leaving participants with practical techniques, stronger visual confidence, and new ways to approach both studio and en plein air work.
We look forward to seeing you there!
